Webhosts with Great Website Builders

My new favorite for those with a creative streak and intermediate computer skills. Allows building from scratch, or changing provided templates. Upload your own photos, add document files, make a contact form or import html code for your emailer, collect email addresses, password protect pages for members only access, add e-commerce shopping cart for an extra but low fee. Extremely low monthly cost includes your own domain at no extra charge. DRAWBACKS? Need patience and an eye for design.

www.Register.com
My old favorite for those who are new to building websites and have beginner computer skills. Easiest builder tool I've found, allows changing page layouts without losing content. Many templates to choose from, lots that can be customized. Upload your own photos or use theirs. Have a great website in a weekend (if your content is already written). Reduces design frustration more than most other builder tools I've used. DRAWBACKS? Domain registration is on the high side, but ask about multi-year savings.
Easy, Pretty, Cheap Emailer Vendors
Things to Stickify Your Website
and Add Value for Prospective Clients
Almost the absolute best, with the prettiest and easiest to use templates that I've found so far. Subscriber lists can be easily segmented, ezines /other blast emails are stored, and can be duplicated and re-sent months and years later. Sign up boxes can be somewhat customized for your website with just a little html know-how, or simply copy and paste the provided code. Other marketing features can be added for additional cost. DRAWBACKS? The autoresponder feature allows just one campaign per account name at a time to be active, and no Word or pdf files can be attached to scheduled, automated email broadcasts.

www.ConstantContact.com
MailChimp.com
Creative types can use some pleasing templates or completely design your own for sending group emails. Service is free up to 500 subscribers or 3000 emails sent per month. Fabulous sense of humor throughout the site. DRAWBACKS? Segmenting your subscriber list isn't as easy as Constant Contact, and no attachments can be sent.
Provides list of all respondents, and you can send reminder emails to those initially invited to answer the survey who have not yet done so. Responses viewable as a whole, or by individual respondent. Easy to construct, and free!
Most well known site for constructing surveys -- you've probably taken one or more that I've done here. Once constructed, you can invite participants with a website or email link, or pop up. Paid membership includes charts and other features, but the free option allows up to 10 questions, and shows statistics for responses, which is really all you need.
Mike Dooley's famous Notes from the Universe can be installed on your website -- Free! Just copy the Java script code from the bottom of this page - http://www.tut.com/resources/notes/ -- and paste into your website. DRAWBACKS? Can be tricky to know how much space to leave for this widget to accommodate any length of quote. See below for an example.
Not for the super serious minded clinician, but fun for the rest of us. Choose your avatar or upload your own photo, record a greeting via your phone, and install to your website. Easy to do and really adds pizzaz to an otherwise conventional website. DRAWBACKS? Well, it may look a little cartoonish to the serious minded grown ups.
Can be color styled and you can choose your quote category. Free to use, easy to install. Just set up and copy the html code provided, then past code into your website. See what you can do on this page -- http://en.thinkexist.com/DailyQuotation/customize.asp DRAWBACKS? Can be hard to predict how much space to leave for this widget so that quotes aren't cut off.
Everyone loves to take a quick quiz and find out something new about themselves or their situation. These can be great client attraction tools for your Resources page. With this tool you can create your own quiz and host it on your own website! When visitors take the quiz you and they get the results by email, so you can follow up. Developed especially as a webtool for coaches, and extremely useful for counselors and NDs, too! DRAWBACKS? Not great visual appeal, and may not be able to do a complex quiz format.

In the interest of full disclosure, I want you to know that I am an affiliate of the Webstarts, Register, ConstantContact, and AssessmentGenerator companies and will receive a small referral fee should you choose to sign up with any of them from this page. I do this to keep my own coaching fees as low as possible, and to be able to provide other free resources to you.
